On This Spot and the Jazz Lofts of SoHo are featured in New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts Alumni Magazine in a conversation between IFA PhD candidate Bentley Brown and alumna Loretta Howard. Brown’s dissertation explores these vital spaces of experimentation and community, where Black artists and musicians came together and helped shape the cultural life of downtown New York.
